traffic lights

ever wonder how big those four-sided traffic lights really are?

they're not small.

on my way home from a job today there was some work being done at Cascade and East Paris, just west of the T. I couldn't really tell what was being done, but there was a truck in the turn lane (and some dude just standing in the crane bucket, doing nothing it seemed) and there were two traffic lights and the turn-lane sign just sitting on the ground. (these weren't the traffic lights for the intersection I needed to go through, thank goodness.) but as i sat there staring, some cars approached East Paris from the west (coming towards me, basically). These four-sided traffic lights were nearly as tall as the cars next to them!! I was so in awe that i turned around and drove by them more than twice. unfortunately the batteries were dead in my camera (curses!) so i don't have any proof. you'll just have to trust me.
