i'll have my monday with a twist

today i spent nearly 7 hours downtown doing my typing thing. thankfully, around 12 or 1 (i can't really remember when it was . . . it's all a blur) someone ordered lunch from urban mill.

and there was much rejoicing.

all in all, there ended up being nearly 6 hours of testimony. thankfully, the transcript was NOT ordered and peace descended upon my countenance.

and also with you.

as i waited by the elevator, the woman already waiting by the elevator looked at me and then asked, "is your hair naturally curly?" we then enjoyed a pleasant conversation all the way out into the street about hair.

[i always get wierd comments about my hair. more than two people in the last year have asked me, "is that your natural hair color?" and then were amazed at this apparently blessed gift from God.]

and the lord saw that it was good.

approaching the menace, i steeled myself for a parking ticket. i parked at a two-hour-only meter (while being inside for nearly 7) because parking at grandville/market is obnoxious. i only had enough change for 1 hr 10 min.

[cue jaws theme music]

however, as i opened up the passenger door to stow my equipment i noticed two things:

1) there is no ticket on my windshield
2) there is a handwritten note on my driver's seat

[confused silence]

apparently the sweetest girl in the world happened to drive by my car this morning and then left me a note to say hi :) i laughed really loud and it made my day. she also left me a voice-mail on my cell phone that wished me a good day. you crack me up, tracy!

this bears repeating:

1) there is no ticket on my windshield

and the green grass grows all around all around, the green grass grows all around


now i'm home and i just had leftover burrito from on the border (i shall forever dream of chocolate turtle empanadas . . . i love being mexican!)
