what are you good at?

I ask people, "What are you good at?" . . . You've got to know what you're good at because those are the cards you bring to the party. In other words, you need a sense of who you are and where you are going." - Larry Bossidy

The only thing I know for sure I'm good at is this: organizing. Be it data, a room, a drawer, files, socks, shelves, whatever. I will sprint, not mosey, to do such things.

Seriously. I just put a drawer organizer in my desk drawer and every time I open my drawer now, I CANNOT help but feel giddy. The act of organizing is exciting for me. It's not the STATE of orderliness, I think it's really the process of creating the order. And I'm not that great at MAINTAINING order . . . probably because one cannot have order without the existence of chaos for order to emerge from. And even then there's an order to my chaos . . . piles, stacks, boxes, etc. It may even be a sickness. Who's to know for sure?

Disclaimer: Order is not to be confused with odor. I am not a fan of odor. Odor does not make me giddy. I am not claiming that odor is a natural result of chaos. Please note, I have no trouble maintaining an unoffensive odor. Also, this disclaimer does not apply if I have been tennising.

I know what you mean...except that I probably don't get the rush nearly as often as you do :)

And feel free to nap on our couch anytime you want...after August 2nd, that is. Otherwise the boys down at the furniture warehouse might not be happy.
