saying goodbye

friday chris and i ventured to the old kalamazoo air zoo, where they had three WWII planes come in. we got to see them, touch them, tour them...it was very cool. this is chris looking up through the bomb bay doors. i can't remember if this was in the B17 or B24. we got to meet the last living member of five original mechanics for the B24 Liberator that was there. such a nice, old guy. he told us about all sorts of mechanical things that we understood nothing about. but we smiled and nodded and enjoyed his firsthand stories from a time long past.

this is us. in a really old plane. we're somewhat cute. ;)

this is me. shooting down enemy planes, obviously.

bantam has been put up for adoption. hopefully a nice family will welcome him into their home soon. in the meantime, i'm very sad over this turn of events, but it is the right thing to do. a wrangler, my soul made material, will wear the bantam badge again one day.

chris gave bantam a much-needed bath. i, however, escaped such judgement.

jeeps have feelings, too. bantam is sad to have to leave our happy little family, and his tears fall shamelessly to the concrete.

and apparently, i'm not the only one who will miss bantam. creepifying.

later saturday night we had G&D's pizza at the park on the lake. here i am in a nearby tree. :D

So sad the Bantam has to live with another family...what a hard call. Make sure you interview and really scope out these folks before you allow one to drive off with her. Actually, maybe Suzanne and Todd can give you a copy of their adoption questionnaire...

Jealous I am. Visited the Air Zoo without us you did. Remember this we will. Afraid of our wrath you shall be.
