the latest

life was crazy there for a minute! our car died last week, a piece of my work equipment broke (at crunch time, no less), and we picked out a new apartment.

in regards to some equipment crapping out on me, it happened ON labor day. so no one is around all day 'cause we have the day off, and i hate just thinking about calling someone to borrow their stuff. needless to say someone came to my rescue later that night around 10pm, and then my coach bailed me out the next day.

and not only did my coach bail me out, she came bearing plant life and chocolate delights. see below:

just one more reason to love my job. they understand when crappy stuff happens, they give us a break (or plants and chocolates) and they appreciate the hard work and effort we put forth.

yesterday our car was picked up and is being inspected. most likely the engine will need to be rebuilt. it's by far the most affordable and logical option for us.

that said, all of the above has turned into something of a catalyst for us. it probably sounds weird, but it's true. there's a lot of things we need to change in our lives, get serious about, buckle down and be disciplined about, etc. etc. so we've been kicked in the pants. pretty hard, i might add.

last night we partook of ike's barbecue smorgasborg, jenny's delectable corn on the cob and sumptuous watermelon for dessert. beverages were a variety of the adult-type. pictured below is chris' purchase (my hand is also pictured so you can appreciate how gargantuan this can is in real life)

and though this picture isn't from last night, it is still hilarious. the dinosaur in question is THE COOLEST garage sale purchase EVER to be made in the history of garage saling. mostly because it roars and has little t-rex arms! ehheehe

this is the neighborhood creepiness that has been spotted on our door, the downstair's neighbor's door and a step. it's always exciting to see where he'll pop up next. (and i refrained from killing him, tracy! hehehee of course, he didn't crawl across my bare leg, either...)
