domesticated peeves

1. no matter what activity I am about to engage in, I like to be clean first. doesn't matter if it's tennis or sitting at the computer, I PREFER TO BATHE FIRST. that said, I'm headed out the door to for yet another biking excursion with lisa (bright and early at 7:25 in the a.m.) AND I AM UNCLEAN.

(this is also why I don't camp.)

2. when tennising (the act of playing tennis) I hate it when the opponent does not announce the score loudly and clearly before undertaking to serve. it doesn't matter that I'm usually losing, i like to know where my team stands at all times. (there used to be many more things that angered me when I play tennis, as lisa can attest to, but this is all that's left!)

3. male musicians typically don't understand the female voice, or realize that we understand our voices better than they think they do. I am not, and never have been, an alto. I love to sing harmony, though, and do it once a month at church on the worship team. apparently that makes me an alto, to my neverending chagrin. (don't get me wrong, I love altos, I'm just not one) it's more of a personal thing really, and the first time I stated I wasn't an alto, I got a weird look. the second time I tried to bring it up, I got some weird response that basically said yes I am, but I can also sing soprano. I GIVE UP. but I am eternally annoyed because it feels like (and this may be silly) one part of me that I am most sure of is being called a liar.

call me crazy.

4. going biking and arriving at the midpoint destination with an empty stomach and dreams of hot dogs, only to find out the vendor does not open for ANOTHER HOUR. dream. crushed.

5. interrupting. first of all, in my job when people interrupt each other, it only makes my job harder, so that is annoying. second of all, when I'm talking to somebody and all of a sudden they turn and start talking to someone else completely ignoring the fact that I was in the middle of saying something to them, that just seems rude. is it just me? it's also kind of embarassing...I just asked a question, or said something that was hoping for a response and ... nothing.

enough venting. going biking with my super cool sister. we might see chickens crossing the road. or a deer (too slow with the camera on that day). or geese sitting in the middle of the road, the car in front of me pulling over so the driver can jump out and shoo them out of the road. (we made sure to watch in case he tried to kick them, which would have required US to get out of OUR car and kick HIM... but it was a very civil and non-violent shoo-ing.)

or I'll just bike to my jeep, and then because it starts raining I'll head right back inside...
