i hart a four-wheeled adventure

this past week i did a little driving. for work i was assigned to travel to montague, hart and lyons. since i hadn't been on the road in awhile, i decided to explore, and saw some interesting things. in hart there was a restaurant called "That Place," a forklift crossing sign, and the Pink Elephant Diner. as i was getting to hart, the blue sign on the highway (you know, with the map symbols, like for camping, etc.) actually had a square with a big question mark...I don't know what that means! I expected to see more ORV's, being in such close proximity to the silver lake sand dunes, but it WAS only 8:35 in the morning...and I was totally bad ass cruising around in my red wrangler, blaring vivaldi, of all things. and the local doctor, the witness that day, used the phrase "jiminy crickets." on my way out of town i thought i saw something interesting, and turned towards the lake. there was nice little roadside/lakeside park memorial with flags, a small monument and this jet. i didn't have a chance to walk in the park across the lake, but if i ever get sent back there it's at the top of my list.

on my way to lyons i passed some large farm equipment on the road. the town itself was smaller than Manton, where i grew up. the dam i saw on my stroll in looked like it had potential, and was quite picturesque with all of the leaves turning. i got to town pretty early, so i tooled around a little and actually saw a handicap crossing sign.
