fenian's

six years ago i walked into schulers with the intent of finding some irish music to use for my wedding. one of the CDs i walked out with was a double-disc compilation from green linnet records. i was merely hoping to find some songs that would be great for the wedding....which i did.

and one song stopped me in my tracks.

i didn't expect that from instrumental irish music.

i was officially hooked.

tonight i got to see Lunasa for the second time. the first time was with tasha down in chicago at the old town school of music (also where we stumbled on The Mammals). tonight was a more intimate experience at fenian's (in conklin, mi) with chris, dwight & jenny.

the guinness and smithwicks flowed.

these are my favorite boys...trevor, kevin, cillian, sean and paul!

jenny practically drools as sean walks by :)

cillian playing by himself those Uilleann pipes i love so much!

i see you jenny wade...

Thanks again for hooking us up with the show. I am now officially hooked as well. I've had their music stuck in my head ever since we left the pub!

I dunno, Kate. I really think the banjo is my heart and soul. Followed closely by the ukelele.
