F Day

the 2nd annual frankenmuth field trip
celebrating with friends, fried chicken, fudge, festive lights, frolicking*

starting the day:
jenny & dwight wade, tasha wright,
troy "call me Peep" hatfield, liz bremer, chris dornan

while "bear hugs" are safe between humans, here i am demonstrating the proper way to hug an actual bear: not too tightly, feet in starting-block position, and face not too close to the fangs.

is it sad that i didn't get the joke right away?

there's nothing quite like a family style dinner at the bavarian inn:  servers in feathered hats and wench outfits, all the fried chicken and butter noodles and mashed potatoes and beets you can eat, learning that santa quit smoking since we saw him last (way to go, santa!), and being thankful for forgetting to wear a belt.  if ever there's a time to wear your eatin' pants, this is it.

troy and the boys

appropriate because troy loves lederhosen.

chris sees dwight sitting on one of his sheep...

i don't believe in hats

neither does jenny.

the sign said not to climb on or touch the people.
troy was adamant that camels aren't people.
i think he's flipping us off.  it's hard to tell.

all in all, a good day: good food, good friends, good humor.
jenny got an elephant that poops cigarettes
and elizabeth made out like a bandit at bronners.
(not made out with a bandit . . .
though that would have been MUCH more entertaining)

highlight of the day:
dwight screeching like a girl while we all ran across the street.
too bad you can't take a picture of that!

while we had a gorgeous, clear, non-precipitativous day in the 'muth,
the weather became grumpy once we got back on the highway.
it took an extra hour to make the return trip home.
and it was cold outside.  just ask jenny!
and how did we decide on which gas station to stop at?
the one with the marquis that said "cleanest bathrooms" of course!
because if the sign says it, it must be true.
