This may surprise you (well, not tasha) but sometimes it's hard for me to be myself. sometimes when I'm around a group of people I don't know I'm very excited to find out all about them, and joke around with them, and make new friends... and sometimes I just withdraw into myself, stay quiet, and hover creepily near someone I know. end intro.
this morning I went to a baby shower.
shocking, I know. I know nothing about babies, less about baby showers, and pretty much nobody AT the shower. I wasn't sure how it would go. basically I grew up with the dad-to-be, sang at his wedding, and we've hung out once or twice with him and his wife, who now live in mt. pleasant. I really like her, though I don't know her extremely well, so I was glad to be invited to the shower. plus it was in hudsonville, and turned out to be quite literally just down the road from me. and luckily, there were just a few people there, and they were her college girlfriends. I was feeling pretty confident that I would be having more of an outgoing day. and I was very glad to find that her friends were also very friendly and welcoming, and I actually had a very good time...and some awesome chocolate cake. AND...I won something, so that was pretty cool. I can kick ass on those nursery rhymes, I tell you what!
it didn't take me as long to get to the shower as I thought it would, so I just drove around for awhile. I see the strangest things when I'm just out driving around:
seriously.
check it out!!! the bantam menace's new nametag is here:
I hung out with my sister yesterday... we had qdoba, beaners and even a little shopping. and then we saw these geese just walking across this frozen pond, honking away like a couple drunk guys stumbling home, arguing with each other.
