breather
friends, i am officially pooped. it was a busy, crazy weekend, and i didn't wake up today until well after 1:00. in the p.m. and i hadn't even been drinking!
first off, friday night chris and i shared some laughs with his family. along with his parents, and two of his uncles, we went to The Laughing Post in Kalamazoo to see Robert Schimmel. chris' uncle mike, who got him interested in schimmel, was able to make the show, too. it was a blast. and fyi, the pizza at Shakespeare's Pub is amazing.
saturday was a fairly eventful day.
at 4:30 in the afternoon chris and i watched ethan and ashley get married. i'm not normally an especially emotional person, but i leaked like a faucet. ashley was gorgeous, ethan was sniffling, troy was in a suit and tie, and the ceremony.....the
words, the music, the joy.....was simply beautiful and moving.
and then we were off again.
the next several hours found us preparing for my latest treasure hunt: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. it was the entertainment for a school cast party, who just finished performing the play. children had to eat turkish delight, the white witch made an appearance, and eventually everyone found aslan. the treasure hunt blog will be updated soon, so you'll be able to see all the craziness.
chris and i left the school sometime around 1:00 am, hit the ihop for a little bit, and then crashed. i'm thoroughly enjoying the evening, not doing anything really, and then i get right back at it tomorrow. another treasure hunt is happening NEXT weekend in Holland.... also on the first day of the tulip time festival. nothing more can really be said about it, because i know diane is out there....
i'll be in touch ;)

I saw you guys across the room through my also-teary eyes...sigh. At the reception, Aaron was pushing for Troy to do the "Rub-a-dub-dub, thanks for the grub" blessing, but alas. 'Twas a good time...but it looks like you all had a good time too! Elizabeth looks particularly frosty and witchy in that getup!
Troy mentioned that he was officiating a wedding...and I wondered if it was for Ethan and Ashley. Sounds marlevous. I'm sure people will weep at my wedding too, but they'll be thinking, "We can't believe she really did it! We thought this would NEVER happen!"
Elizabeth is scary.
And Yes, I'm out here. Friday night I had a dream about my TH. It was ALREADY fabulous. :)
Clarification: I am not scary...the White Witch is!! I on the other hand, am FABULOUS!!! Apparently, it's not a great thing to have the reputation of being an ice queen...hmmm...
But, rumor has it that I did scare a young child (or two, or three) in my wonderful impersonation of the white witch..hehehe
laura, i think you owe liz an apology, that was her BEFORE she got ready.
Elizabeth, it was I who said you were scary and you're right, I should clarify: Elizabeth impersonating the White Witch is SCARY! HA!
At my Treasure Hunt will you please dress up as a Yellow Tulip? Thanks.
Happy Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday. Happy Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday to you! Ole! (that would have an accent on it but blogger is refusing to do it!)
