on the 8th day god created facebook
there's a saying that I love that goes something like this:
"there are no strangers, only friends you haven't met yet."
so i was camped out at beaners for the better of the day. when I finally got up to throw away my grande cup and start packing to leave, a stranger happened to be walking in my general direction. as our paths crossed, he raised an arm, as if to give me a high five.
now, as I realize what is happening, my mind is racing. do I know him? he looks vaguely familiar, but maybe only because he LOOKS LIKE someone I know... have we met before?
and as I hesitate until it's truly safe, he says, prompting my return five, "Friday night?! The Mines show?!"
and I understand. he was there. I was there. he saw that I was there. thus began a brief but lively verbal fist pump. because let's face it, the mines are brilliant, and NEED strangers to have random encounters at coffee shops telling stories and sharing our feelings about them. and laughing. always there must be laughing involved.
in other news, THURSDAY, APRIL THE THIRD, marks the first white pine trail/dam dogs adventure of 2008! tom, last name foolery, is already loaded up. grape G2 at the ready. peoplemusic on my ipod. the menace is fueled.
is it sad that we planned our excursion around what time dam dogs opens?!
did you know that my birthday is exactly five weeks away?
it's true.
