oh, the sights you'll see

it's been a busy few weeks. yesterday was my first "typing" day in a long while, which meant I got to stay home and get some typing done, rather than generate more work for myself. I have several jobs to get done, but I'm keeping on top of it and staying non-stressed...which goes a long way in making it easier to keep on schedule!

today i was scheduled for a hearing, which is essentially different from the depositions I normally record. i generally look forward to these because I know exactly what to expect of the room and the amount of space I'll have (this is important, because sometimes for deps we're squished into a lunch room at a doctor's office...which are not small, they are tiny) and it's quite comfortable. it's also more interesting than normal because a case is presented in front of a hearing officer, so you get to hear both sides of the case. these are the only things I can expect with some consistency...the content of the cases are unknown until the hearing begins, and the last hearing I was at was the most vulgar, vile and ear-offending experience of my life.

today's was quite tame, only an hour long, and I was soon on my way back home to dive right back into my ocean of typing. (today was also my first visit to the ionia maximum correctional facility, though I only had to walk to the warden's conference room...no crossing the grounds to prisoners' catcalls this time!)

my route took me through saranac, and on my way home I literally had to stop (there might have been squealing) and TURN AROUND so that I could take a picture. who would believe me otherwise?!
now, if you had only waited, ike, you could have replaced your toilet FOR FREE!!!

Curses! Oh well, at least my landlord took care of the expenses on the last one.
