the mines' kalamazoo debut

last wednesday our favorite local band, the mines, played their first gig in kalamazoo.  every wednesday they have what's called the mixer on the mall.  it starts at 5:01 p.m. when everyone gets out of work.  there's beer and live music.

despite the fact it was chris' day off, we made the trip to cheer loudly for our friends.  kalamazoo didn't know what it was missing.

chris' parents even came out for the second set and loved it.

though the crowd didn't rush the stage, and were understandably a little busy holding their beers to be applauding very much, the mall was pretty packed.  the mines made some new fans, (the kind that are genuinely enthusiastic, not drunkenly excited) and made some sales.
the only suggestion i heard was that they need a banner so people know who they are.
the mines had a great couple sets and sounded vocally rested and ready to RAWK (as one of the members who shall remain hairless likes to put it) and were in rare form with their usual comments and introductions.  they look different by the light of day, don't you think?!  no hazy smoke... i hardly knew what to do.

the man in yellow was practically beside himself when the mines closed with purple rain.  he sauntered all the way up front, by himself, and danced for most of the song.  the band ended up giving him free CDs, and publicly made him an official member of the mines.

uhhh... i'm not sure what this really means.  besides the questionable obvious.  any ideas?

Seriously... there are so many funny things about this post that I don't even know where to begin or end.

But IT IS hard to recognize those boys without smoke and lights and hot choir people behind them :)

From...."ready to RAWK (as one of the members who shall remain hairless likes to put it"

To "Do not hump." I'm laughing so hard that I may have pottied a teensy.

Goodness Gracious.

This post absolutely made my day!
